Volunteer Opportunities - South Carolina Historical Society

Would you like to receive free use of the library’s resources in exchange for 12 hours of volunteer work each month? We are seeking volunteers to help staff in various departments of the Society.

In the research library: we will provide the necessary training, but interested persons should be comfortable with providing instruction and guidance to incoming patrons and must be able to carry manuscript boxes up and down flights of stairs. Previous experience is desirable.

In the office: occasionally we need help compiling membership mailings. Interested parties should be able to fold letters and stuff and seal envelopes. This volunteer opportunity is on an as-needed basis, but can count towards your 12-hours-per-month volunteer record.

These are great opportunities for students, researchers, and/or physically fit retired folks!
