Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry - Artist in Residence
In its inaugural year, the Anne Darby Parker Artist-in-Residency program is open to artists working in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, illustration, and print-making. The selected artist will take residence in the Museum’s dedicated Art Room 15 hours a week for three months. The Residency begins March 2010.
At the conclusion of the Residency, the artist will contribute one of the pieces he/she has worked on during the Residency to the Museum’s permanent collection and have the opportunity to showcase their work at a reception at the Museum and during Spoleto 2010.
The Anne Darby Parker Artist-in-Residence program is an opportunity for Lowcountry children and their families to learn, work and interact with a professional artist during hands-on workshops, weekly drop-in classes and informal demonstrations. The artist will also direct monthly art workshops for a visiting CML Title One partner school.
